We have been talking a lot about #Endomorph body types lately – most questions I get asked are of course about body fat.
You can lead a horse to water but you can’t make him drink, you can tell people to eat more Fruits & Vegetables but what they do when they leave the studio is up to them
I take full responsibility when somebody gets frustrated, mad, and says I suck at personal training. I am here to help people lose body fat and If I fail in some way, then I failed that person BIG time
Endomorph body types are different from my own, I feel I have a good grasp of it physically but it’s the mental & social aspect that I continue to learn something new from every day
It’s hot and humid outside & we’ve seen a little rush of new clients coming to the studio & Im not kidding when I say it’s not because we have cold air conditioning when we work out.
I believe it is because of the people who are their. It’s not like a big gym, it does not carry that atmosphere & I’m proud of that.
When a new person starts our workout they learn new things, not only from me but from all the others who workout too, it’s the environment that does that. I appreciate all you do and thank you for reading my post
1. eat more PROTIEN
2. eat more good FAT (more mono- and polyunsaturated fats)
3. restrict Carb intake to mostly vegetables
These are habit changes, they need to be done overtime while you watch how your body repsonds
I teach about 3 distinct body types when I meet new clients or when people have questions about their body fat. Knowing what your body type is and how to eat, train, and sleep accordingly is one of the most important and most overlooked aspects of personal training and getting in shape.
We all lift weights, we all do cardio, we all participate in the same 5k’s but what sets us apart is how we train and what training our body type responds too. Endomorphs need to focus on bigger sets, with more intensity and a fast training pace
Having good nutrition is of course important too, endomorphs need to focus on eating more fruits and vegetables, more complex carbs and more lean high quality protein. YOU have to cut out the junk food and sweets because the endomorph body type easily converts extra calories to stored energy, and that is not what we want to do!!
Workout programs, diets, and personal trainers fail because people do not eat & train for their body type, what they do is train by doing something somebody else already did and think it will work bc its in the magazine or on t.v
As a personal trainer I don’t care what you weigh – now if you have 50lbs of extra body fat you carry around by all means lets lose some weight
I believe body fat and your body type are more important to your physique and well-being than just your weight alone
I tell all my female clients to be @30% BF or below – male clients @20% BF or below
