Training for your body type – Endomoprhs

I teach about 3 distinct body types when I meet new clients or when people have questions about their body fat.  Knowing what your body type is and how to eat, train, and sleep accordingly is one of the most important and most overlooked aspects of personal training and getting in shape.

We all lift weights, we all do cardio, we all participate in the same 5k’s but what sets us apart is how we train and what training our body type responds too.  Endomorphs need to focus on bigger sets, with more intensity and a fast training pace

Having good nutrition is of course important too, endomorphs need to focus on eating more fruits and vegetables, more complex carbs and more lean high quality protein.   YOU have to cut out the junk food and sweets because the endomorph body type easily converts extra calories to stored energy, and that is not what we want to do!!

Workout programs, diets, and personal trainers fail because people do not eat & train for their body type, what they do is train by doing something somebody else already did and think it will work bc its in the magazine or on t.v

Personal Training 101: great clients make great trainers

GT Fitness client review

Apple a day

One of my best clients brought up the other day in the studio that he made a decision not to eat after he got off work at 9pm.  He has already lost over -25lbs  but since the holiday eating he is ready to lose a few more.

We both agreed that if you’re not willing to eat an apple then you really aren’t that hungry.

That makes sense to me.

If you aren’t willing to eat a fruit or vegetable when you are hungry then you really aren’t hungry, you are just craving!!

Try it next time – it works

Cost for being healthy according to Obamacare

So how much does it really cost to be healthy?

I believe it only costs you about 30-50mins most days of the week doing some structured physical activity

2013: The best and worst time to start working out

The final two weeks of the year is staring us right in the face.  Looking back you can see people places and things that touched your heart and flashes of memories that you want to vanish forever.  I myself have been blessed in 2012 and can’t wait to run through 2013.

The new year brings one of my favorite times for business, the “resolution”

1. the act or an instance of resolving
2. the condition or quality of being resolute; firmness or determination
3. something resolved or determined; decision
4. a formal expression of opinion by a meeting, esp one agreed by a vote
5. (Law) a judicial decision on some matter; verdict; judgment
6. the act or process of separating something into its constituent parts or elements

There’s the dictionary definition, take your pick.   When people hear the word they typically think of losing weight.

I think that’s fabulous.

I have worked at the big gyms, owned my own business and have been a personal trainer going on 12yrs, although I see and learn new things all the time, some things never do change, like people starting off the new year wanting to get in shape.

This by far is the best and worst time to start working out.

It’s best because people are motivated, ready and helped along by encouragement of family, peers, and co-workers, and without some support its hard to  be successful.

On the other-hand, it’s the worst time to workout, it’s crowded, time-consuming, and almost embarrassing for some because of how they have let their self go.

Bigger gyms won’t help

$15/24hr  gym won’t help

Diet pills wont help

Starving yourself won’t help

Working out 2 hrs a day wont help

The only thing that helps is YOU – you have to want to make a change and accept the responsibilities  that come with that change.

The best help is self-help – you are the motivation, the resolution, you are the reason  I have purpose and self fulfillment in my own life – thank you

I’m a salesman too – I sell SEXY LEG workouts

Your Abs, my Abs, every body’s Abs

Wed is Ab day at the studio, my favorite day to train abs.

We all have abs, but some of us have too much fat covering them so they are hidden.  Reduce your body fat percentage significantly and you too will have a six-pack showing.

Check out this anatomy chart, you look like this

But not every body looks like this

Genetics plays a big factor in what you look like.  What genes we get from our parents will determine what we look like, how our muscle is shaped and what definition we can show, not every body is the same.

These before and after pics are more like it, not everything you see in a magazine is for real!!

Any questions or comments feel free to reply.  If you need a good Ab workout just ask!!
