Food, failure and success

Completed another 10 day food challenge and it’s been the best thing for me, not because I lost weight but I have learned more about psychology and people than I ever thought I would.  When I first put the challenge guidelines together I was looking primarily for a way to help people cut back on extra carbs, starches, and sugar to lose water weight and burn more body fat.

I myself appreciate a challenge every once in a while but when I propose to some people a challenge to eat more fruits & vegetables, more seeds, nuts, protein & seafood the look I get and barriers that I have to hurdle to convince them its a good thing, its a challenge within itself.  One that I am welcome to and can’t wait to do again

Every end is a new beginning

Yes you can eat pizza too!!

we decided today we are kicking off August’s 10 day food challenge with lunch at Mellow Mushroom!!

for everybody who has been on a diet before have you ever started it off with pizza?

I love pizza and can argue my point at how wholesome, fresh and nourishing it is for you any time you please

If your “diet” says NO pizza then I’m telling you that you need a new approach to eating lunch

If you’re not busy next Wed please join us for a bite to eat – we always eat good!!

On a personal note

today I want to post and say something a little more personal. I usually post “business” stuff or things related to health & fitness on my blog & Facebook to motivate & teach the folks at the studio

My posts aren’t for everyone and I know that, plus there is ample room for improvement which makes me very happy as well

I have met so many different people doing personal training in Bowling Green (the mom, dad, wife, kids, girlfriend, grandma-pa, the alone ones, the depressed & happy ones, also the sick, weak, mentally, socially and physically challenged ones too. Don’t forget the lairs, cheaters, rich, poor, religious & atheist to name a few) I am so amazed and blessed to meet you

Most important though and the one I appreciate most about my work dealing with everyday people, and that’s the excuses. I heard them all especially when it comes to this 10 day food challenge

You wouldn’t believe the excuses people give to me why they can’t eat better quality foods!!

It actually infuriates me, what earthly human being would not benefit from healthy daily nourishment to their body and why?

If you have an answer or comment please share – I can list some excuses for you to so maybe you can have a better one next time – Haha jk!!

You vs.You

One of the hardest things to grasp for some people is the “diet” part of losing body fat weight

I have it broken down for you over 10 days that I can assure you will succeed

It’s you vs. you & I’m on your side

Feast or Famine – life of a Personal Trainer

My best month of total fat loss as a personal trainer was 212lbs/fat January of 2009

This month in June we may not hit more than -50lbs/fat for the whole month

I’m actually proud of that, most my clients have been on VACATION and having FUN!!!

Final Results: GT 10-day Food Challenge

GT Food Challenge went GREAT!! after 10-days average weight loss -3.33lbs & -2.25″ total in Abs and Hips!!

We did not recommend a “diet”, everybody ate what they wanted.

We did not give out pills or drink powders, our mission with the 10-day Food Challenge was to  help teach people accountability and body awareness.

These are the results for the 28 people who participated and followed through for 10 days

What Evokes You?

a “challenge” evokes the body’s fight or flight response to a stressful situation

– after this months fitness challenge I know of a few people who choose to stand and battle Life with me – I thank you

GT Food Challenge – the Last 3 Days

I wish that I could help people who struggle with Obesity more efficiently than telling them to eat more fruits and vegetables, but that’s all I did to lose -5lbs in 8days – this is not a diet, this is life

GT 10day Food Challenge (First 7 days)

GT Food Challenge: Day 3

Today is my 3rd day of the challenge. I believe in 3’s.

It takes about 3 days of tracking daily caloric intake to get a good idea of what exactly it is that you eat.

My break down of nutrients looks like this so far

20120524-120554.jpg

Three days is ample amount of time to see a significant amount of water retention lost after 72 hrs (3 days) of eating less carbs. On the third day this week we have 4 people -15lbs total (-3.75 a person) that’s a good sign of things to come

3 words I want to end with

Commitment
Consistency
Courage

That is how you get results in fat loss and in LIFE!!!

What changes have you seen in 3 days of the challenge?
